I received a pleasant, surprise invitation to my cousins, Penny and Nancy's new house in Vista, Ca. for Thanksgiving dinner. I made the harrowing trip from Borrego Springs to Vista in about two hours (everyone that knows me, knows how I hate steep, windy, mountain roads.) At any rate after an enjoyable visit and great dinner, on my way back to BS, I decided to drive by the old ranch in Valley Center where we raised our family in the 70's. Indian Hill Ranch, now owned by the Irvines, had certainly changed over the last 33 years. I did have a surprise reunion with our old neighbor's daughter Sherrie at the infamous Bates Nut Farm where they were having their annual crafts fair.
